Dr. Jeffrey Blanco and his staff have
dedicated themselves to practicing at the highest level,
providing quality vision care for patients of all ages,
from infants to seniors with a caring sense of
compassion unparalleled in today’s rushed medical
environment. Very few practices offer services to
patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly.
To
provide the varied services Blanco Eye Associates offer,
the office environment is different too. Vision testing
is done with the newest high contrast acuity system,
including evaluation for nonverbal patients.
Resource Room
Adjacent to the reception area is a Resource Room where
pamphlets on various eye care topics are displayed. The
pamphlets are free for those wishing to take them. There
are also various aids for people that are visually
impaired such as writing guides, a large button phone,
and time keeping aids, just to name a few.
Your Visit To Our
Office
When you enter the office you will be greeted by our
receptionist and asked to fill out a few forms including
an Ocular History & Medical Questionnaire form. If you have low vision (uncorrectable
vision loss), you must also fill out a Low Vision Needs
Assessment form. These forms are available on the
Patient Resources page.
Pretest Room
Before you see the doctor you will have some
preliminary testing by a technician. She/he will first
review the reason for your visit and do several tests
including imaging your retinal with a computer driven
digital camera, autorefraction to determine how much out
of focus your eyes are, visual acuity, color vision, and
stereopsis (depth perception) analysis.
Doctor’s Exam
Eye health is the primary concern in every exam and
pupil dilation is sometimes required. Because our
digital imaging system is so advanced, the need for
dilation of the pupil is minimized. All testing
equipment is the most modern available.
Digital
imaging of the retina on every patient is one of the
unique parts of our evaluation. Although most offices
charge as much as $90 for photography, we do it on every
patient at no extra charge. This can be very valuable in
finding eye disease, capturing a high contrast retinal
view of the retina in a sometimes uncooperative child,
showing patients abnormalities that help them understand
what’s happening to their eyes, and having a baseline
image for future reference.
At the end of doctor’s examination, ample time is
devoted to explain your condition and all your questions
will be answered.
